C. R. B. Tree

Middle Mountain is nothing more than a connecting ridge which runs east and west between Mosby Mountain and Lake Mountain. But on the back side (north side) of Middle Mountain, in what is called Dry Fork Canyon, I located a very old quakenasp tree which had the initials C.R.B. carved upon it. The letters were about 5 or 6 inches high each and were carved on the tree below a large rectangle in the shape of a mining claim, inside of which were several lines, two numbers of 5 and an arrow. Below the diagram, but above the initials, were other letters which appeared to be "Win," the meaning of which is not clear. And, very near this tree I found a stack of old and rotted props the same size used in mines.--Lost Gold of the Uintah, pg. 151
