Yellow Jacket & Bearhole Mines

Near the mouth of Maxwell Draw there are three old diggings which used to be called the Yellow Jacket mines, and close by are the remains of two old log cabins. Further up canyon, in a side gulch leading off to the left, there are two cave-like openings called the Bear Holes. There are also several old diggings in what old-timers call Mine Hollow, but what is now shown on modern maps as Welch Canyon.--Faded Footprints, pg. 55
